Teacher Education

About the Programs

The Teacher Education programs prepare students for teaching and related careers at the baccalaureate and master's levels in a broad variety of curricular areas; partners with and improves schools in the Greater New Orleans area; and generates and disseminates applied, basic, and sponsored research concerning teaching and learning.

The programs are informed by the interaction of theory and practice, and they are designed to develop an understanding of the major roles of teachers in culturally diverse, urban educational settings. Courses of study, partnerships with various agencies, and funded projects provide students with access to the most recent innovations in educational research, assessment, and technology.

The Teacher Education programs are located on the 3rd floor of the Bicentennial Education Building.
